PVDF Shrink Fabric for Drum Filters
Kynar is a trade name for PVDF, a fluoropolymer used in filtration applications that require broad chemical resistance. PVDF monofilaments are used in woven fabrics for demanding pulp bleaching and washing environments.
Shrink fabrics are installed around filter drums and tightened by a controlled shrinking procedure. High shrink force, a low-profile seam, drainage and cleanability are important for reliable drum-filter operation. The suitability of PVDF depends on the complete chemical mixture, concentration, temperature and mechanical load, so published resistance data should be treated as guidance rather than a universal rating.
Selection Information
- Drum-filter type and circumference
- Process chemicals, concentrations and temperature
- Required permeability and filtrate quality
- Existing seam and installation method
- Current problems such as blinding, wear or loss of tension
Confirm the process conditions before material selection and follow the specified installation and shrinking procedure.
