Filter Cloth for FGD Gypsum Dewatering

Flue-gas desulfurization systems commonly use horizontal vacuum belt filters to separate, wash and dewater gypsum slurry. The filter cloth carries the cake through the filtration and washing zones while vacuum removes liquid through the fabric.

For stable operation, the cloth must provide suitable permeability, dimensional stability, tracking and cake release. Chemical exposure, abrasive solids and repeated washing also influence material and weave selection. The cloth specification should be based on the absorber chemistry and filter operating conditions.
