According to information released by the Taihe County Government and the Fuyang Municipal Government:

Our company’s engineer, Li Chengzhong, has been honored as the “Most Beautiful Craftsman” of Taihe County. He also received the nomination award for the “Most Beautiful Craftsman” of Fuyang City and was recognized as the “Most Beautiful Scientific and Technological Worker” of Taihe County.

Li Chengzhong has participated in 26 product technology R&D and innovation projects, among which 6 have obtained invention patents and 5 utility model patents. In 2016, he led the R&D of the high-strength flat monofilament dryer fabric process technology project, which won the second prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Fuyang City. The product was recognized as a provincial-level new product of Anhui in 2019, with sales ranking first nationwide and quality reaching domestically advanced levels, making outstanding contributions to the company’s technological advancement.

As the company’s chief equipment engineer, he leads the equipment maintenance team in ensuring an equipment operational rate of over 90% while actively engaging in the independent development of equipment, driving product innovation and development through technological innovation. For decades, he has immersed himself in the technical field of industrial textiles, leading teams to carry out related projects and develop technologies that are industry-leading and widely adopted. Key achievements include:

Project 1: Development of Twcwin Software

Under the VC6.0 compilation environment, he developed Twcwin software—a data acquisition software for the heat-setting machine process in the Windows environment. This software established a production information database for the heat-setting process, filling a gap in domestic heat-setting process data management and laying a solid foundation for information management. The achievement earned him special recognition from the company and acknowledgment from industry experts.

Project 2: JWD-672 Semi-Automatic Splicing Machine with Monofilament Control

Building on the successful development of the JWD-1 (harness frame type) splicing machine, and drawing on the weaving principles of the Bonas jacquard machine, he independently developed the JWD-672 splicing machine controller tailored for polyester forming fabric splicing. This machine features preset splice points, automatic shedding, uniform splices, high fabric quality, simple operation, and strong adaptability to various fabric types. It is the most advanced semi-automatic splicing machine, meeting the splicing requirements for polyester double-layer, 2.5-layer, and SSB triple-layer forming fabrics. The achievement received special recognition from the company and high praise from industry peers. Even as fully automatic WIS machines dominate the market, this equipment remains essential for splicing 2.5-layer forming fabrics, playing a key role in overcoming splicing challenges and contributing to the R&D and trial production of high-end forming fabrics.

He systematically summarized and elevated practical experience, authoring the paper “Application of Jacquard Semi-Automatic Splicing Machine in Papermaking Forming Fabric Manufacturing,”published in China Pulp & Paper Industry, Issue 19, 2019, page 47. The paper comprehensively discusses the functions, components, advantages, and the product quality and customer feedback resulting from the application of the independently developed jacquard machine, reflecting his rigorous work ethic and solid professional attitude.

Project 3: Development of the TPY-240 Semi-Automatic Dryer Fabric Splicing Machine

In 2013, to meet the company’s need for improved quality and efficiency in high-strength dryer fabric splicing, he developed the TPY-240 semi-automatic dryer fabric splicing machine, using Staubli jacquard components as the actuators. Over years of operation, the machine has proven stable, reliable, user-friendly, highly efficient, and energy-saving, earning widespread acclaim from splicing operators. This splicing machine is an original innovation of the company, with everything from schematic design and PCB board manufacturing to software module development, hardware assembly, and debugging independently completed, positioning it as an absolute leader in China. The company now operates 11 such splicing machines, making them the primary equipment for splicing various dryer fabrics and industrial meshes. Used for splicing 11-meter-wide dryer fabrics for high-speed paper machines, the technology achieves a lifespan of 12 months on domestic 1,800 m/min newsprint machines, replacing imported products. The technology has brought the company’s splicing quality to internationally advanced levels, receiving broad recognition and praise from the industry and customers. The equipment is highly favored by Brazilian fabric manufacturers, who have expressed interest in purchasing it for splicing dryer fabrics and industrial meshes in Brazil.

This technology is the primary equipment for the company’s existing dryer fabrics, pulp forming fabrics, press felts, and other products, effectively ensuring product quality and efficiency.

Project 4: Technical Improvements and Advancements

In equipment technology research and maintenance innovation, the company has continuously introduced internationally advanced production equipment in recent years. These machines are expensive, technologically sophisticated, and complex to control. Utilizing extensive personal time, Li Chengzhong thoroughly studied and mastered advanced control solutions such as PLC programming, servo control, and human-machine interfaces through in-depth learning and research on the control technologies of heat-setting machines, weaving machines, and other critical equipment. He accurately understood the performance and control of heat-setting and weaving machines, collected and organized valuable technical materials, and accumulated rich experience in application, maintenance, and design. He resolved countless equipment malfunctions and further optimized control programs to enhance equipment stability and reliability, ensuring smooth operation, significantly improving equipment efficiency, and saving substantial maintenance costs for the company. His efforts have earned him repeated praise and awards from the company, as well as recognition from foreign engineers (from Germany and Norway).

Project 5: Reorganization and Moving Forward

In 2017, the company initiated the Pacific Phase II project, with a total equipment investment of ¥100 million. Faced with immense workloads in project construction, equipment introduction, installation, and debugging, along with limited personnel, diverse tasks, and heavy responsibilities, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly, working tirelessly to complete equipment installation and ensure effective operation with high standards and strict requirements, achieving outstanding results. Leading the equipment maintenance team, he worked day and night on the front lines, ensuring the normal operation of company equipment and the smooth implementation of the new project. His efforts were widely recognized and praised by frontline workshop employees, the company, and foreign engineers.

Comrade Li Chengzhong has remained consistent in his dedication for decades. He upholds integrity as his foundation, treats others with generosity and humility, pursues technical excellence and perfection, collaborates sincerely with colleagues while learning from one another, and approaches his work with diligence, diligence, and pragmatism. With strong professional capabilities and comprehensive technical expertise, he represents the company’s commitment to technological innovation.
